I went to a sale on the last day off of the New Year.

Sales are great; even if the price is usually beyond my reach, when it becomes half-off, it is a very big deal. I cannot help but shop magnanimously, bulk purchasing half a year’s worth of suits and plain clothes.

In the 14 years since I started the company, I have spent each day rarely ever wearing plain clothes.

When I go on overseas business trips, I leave behind absolutely everything that is unessential since I travel with one bag. When I do that, I end up with just suits.

Suits are all Zegna or Alexander McQueen, shirts are always white, and neckties are all yellow.

Because I am a youngster, I want to keep up a proper appearance. So, I have never ever met a client in Japan without my tie on. In 14 years, I have never met anyone work-related in plain clothes. I wear a suit until right before I go to bed.

While it is commonly thought that no necktie and plain clothes are numerous in IT companies, I meet with clients, not people in the same industry. Whether it is IT or whatever the industry, TPO is unchanging. Instead of self-expression by taking off the necktie, self-expression should be done with opinions and action.

The company used to only allow suits. However, the policy was made freer as apparel-related e-commerce business has grown.

That is the TPO in the apparel industry.

Because I am young, I must be able to distinguish between different TPO. I would like us to keep being that kind of company.
